"Inspired by the Western genre, this cowboy-type tale unfolds on the Transvaal Highveld shortly after the Anglo-Boer War in 1902. Flip Lourens, a Boer hero back from the front, gets drawn into small-town politics when he sides with a young farmer who has made an enemy of the town's strong man, Coert Bester.
At the centre of the conflict is the beautiful Martie Pretorius, who wants to escape the influence of Bester, her ex-lover. Bester sees Lourens as a motive to tighten his tyranny over the community and Martie. Tensions heighten and culminate in a bloody shoot-out on the Pretorius farm, where Lourens is wounded in the leg, Bester killed and the town rid of the notorious post-war gang that terrorised it. But instead of riding off into the sunset, lone ranger Flip finds solace and the future in the arms of the lovely and loving Martie.
