After seven successful album releases, in 2005 Zozo and his band Sangere Super Beat surpassed all expectations when Mutsho Vol. 7 sold over 60 000 units in less than two months. The young singer/songwriter carved a niche for himself when he fused Zimbabwean guitar and dance music with infectious Venda traditional music. The genre was coined Xingondo and the 2006 album titled Pfanelo (Human Rights) Vol. 8 stays true to the genre. Zozo & Sangere Super Beat, in keeping with the previous multi-platinum selling albums, recorded Vol. 8 with a live band in Zimbabwe.
