Andrew & Brian Chaplin return in 2013 with a new album, new sound, new logo & a brand new smash hit called "Closer" which is currently blowing up on radio and the highest new entry on the 5fm top 40 this week. Locnville have been SA's biggest pop act of the past 5 years sellingin excess of 100 000 physical albums, winning the SAMAs for best selling album and newcomer, selling out over 11 500 tickets in 72 hours for their convert tour.Having their music used in massive TV campaigns with brands like Sony Playstation, MTN, Supersport etc...
The SAMA Award winning Locnville twins have come out with their second album hot on the heels of their first Platinum selling delivery, Sun in my Pocket. With little time to waste they whipped it together in nine short months with the help of their international record deal so the album was engineered, mixed and co-produced by American producer Alan Armitage. It is technically sound and securely vexed in the Electro-Pop phenomenon. The first few tracks, a bit slower in bpm, take a little bit of ear tolerance to get through with of course the same Locnville testosterone bass vocal. For the fans this offering will definitely satisfy the craving of another Locnville fix. They experiment with varying distinctions of Electronica combined with Pop and without a doubt make it their own. Tracks like Stars Above You with its happy World Electro feel will more than likely feature as a ring-tone favourite. Head to the Sky has the definite Alan Armitage mark . It takes on a more urban hip hop influenced street feel complete with adlibs. When The Sun Goes Down remixed by Pascal & Pearce is the last track on the album boasting an edgy, darker techy club feel. If you liked their first album you will no doubt like this follow release.
2011 SAMA Winners - Best Selling Album & Best Newcomer
A #1 Platinum status selling Debut album, a sold out arena tour, an international record deal, an MK Award for 'Best Newcomer', winner of the Heat magazine 'Hot 100', winners of 2 2011 SAMA Award and touring the world along the way, the past 12 months has been a whirlwind experience for the Chaplin twins. ON Friday 1st July 2011 Locnville unleash their brilliant new album 'Running To Midnight' featuring the smash hit 'Stars Above You'.
The album was written and recorded over the past 9 months in Cape Town, the USA and whilst on the road promoting their debut album across Europe. The album engineered, mixed and co-produced by American producer Alan Armitage (Chris Brown / The Game / *NSYNC / Backstreet / Boyz II Men).
Commenting on the new album, Andrew Chaplin said: "I'm really excited about this new album, we've let loose with experimentation in the sound. With saying that, it was tough, because there's an expectation of this being a follow up to a very successful debut - but overall I'm very confident in this album, because it's much more relevant to where we are now."
Brian Chaplin added: "'Running To Midnight' was definitely the most eventful experience I've had with writing and recording, and it comes through in the sound. There are highs and lows, and all around a seriously intense and fun story. This is not our previous album, and I can't wait to show it to everybody!"

Having spent the better part of their lives immersed in the music industry, recording their first single "Amnesia' at the age of 7, Brian and Andrew have been preparing for this moment their entire lives. Previous work with South African producer Gabi le Roux and a band called III saw them releasing an album on MXIT - a social messaging platform, which went on to achieve Double Platinum download sales status, and made them the first group in South African music history to release an album in this format. But they were never really satisfied until the birth of Locnville - a name of which the origin the boys choose to keep a mystery.
"We wanted to make the kind of music we enjoyed listening to, music that was commercially viable as well as music that could be accepted internationally - that's what inspired Locnville and the album. We combined elements of the music we like and altered it to make it our own" - Andrew comments.
The first single from the newly incarnated Locnville, the contagiously hypnotic " Sun In My Pocket' is already sky rocketing to the top of the charts in South Africa and is paving the golden highway to their inescapable success. With rave reviews from fans and top celebrities alike - it's just a matter of time before South Africa has a new export to be proud of. Grant and Anele of 5fm have compared Locnville's production to that of Timbaland, as well as DJ Fresh calling them the "...hottest new act out of S.A". " Sun In My Pocket' has been named "Song Of The Year' and "Jam Of The Summer' by their fans. Their sound, which is described by the boys as "Hip Hop infused with electro and organic synths' - has started a craze which is spreading like wildfire.
