3 February 2015 - Afrikaans rapper HemelBesem has released his new self-titled album.
HemelBesem has released his new full-length 18-track album and features a host of well-known South African artists. The album opens up with DJ Ready D showcasing his turntable skills over an aggressive track produced by Dokte, before kicking into the opening song "Vet Kans". Francois van Coke lends his vocals to the next song "Bedoel Vir My" and a bit later on in the album for the rock-rap style song "Mombakkies". Emo Adams appears on the motivational "Doenit Tamatie" and Idols-winner Jody Williams appears on the pop radio-friendly song "Hoop".
The song "Moenie Worry Nie" is the first single and the video was launched at the All Star Theatre in Brackenfell, Cape Town; home to Emo Adams' weekly TV show, on 30 November 2014. It went live on YouTube shortly thereafter and was directed by Desmond Denton of Imagenheart Productions. "Moenie Worry Nie" features Dennis Stander and Gian Groen on vocals; with Rayelle Goodman of the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra on the violin. Meli Grey, a relatively unknown vocalist but frequent collaborator with HemelBesem, appears on three of the album's tracks.
The album is available on CD via the BLM Music website via mail-order, as well as digitally via all online music stores, including iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Spotify and many more.

HemelBesem has released a brand new Afrikaans Hiphop song "Vinger Opi Lip" on 11 June 2014 via the BLM Music website and racked up 1000 downloads in it's first 48 hours of being available.
The original beat was composed by frequent collaborator Seth Grey, who also composed the beat for HemelBesem's hit single "Hoe Salla" which was released in 2012. "HemelBesem has recorded such a lot of material that it's impossible to release all his music in album format", says Dokte, who handled the final production, mixing and arrangement of the song. Fans can look forward to more new music from HemelBesem in the near future, with a new album in the works planned for release at the end of this year.
HemelBesem's album "Die YMCMBesem LP" is currently available on CD at several music stores like Look & Listen, Top CD, Super CD and Music4U nationwide.
HemelBesem has started the new year by releasing a new uptempo Afrikaans rap single called "Herrit Gebore Merrit". He has performed the song at several of his gigs throughout 2013 and now the song has been made available to fans.

2 October 2013 - Afrikaans rapper HemelBesem has released the
music video for his 2013 album's title track "Y.M.C.M.Besem'.
The music video for "Y.M.C.M.Besem' is the third music video after previously having
released music videos for "Kêrels By Candlelight' and "Hoe Salla'. The new video
was shot in the city of Utrecht in The Netherlands and was directed by
Haas and his Careface Productions team. It features cameo appearances by
a few of The Netherlands top hiphop artists, as well as South Africa's
own EJ von Lyrik, previously of Godessa. "Y.M.C.M.Besem' is a pseudo-acronym
"You Must Come Meet Besem' and is the first track on the album.
BLM Music has recently re-released his album by adding 2 extra tracks to the original "Die Y.M.C.M.BesemEP and renaming it to "Die Y.M.C.M.Besem LP'. The album is now is
available on CD at several music stores like Look & Listen, Top CD, Super
CD and Music4U nationwide.
The music video was released on YouTube on 4
June 2013 at midnight and was directed by Neil van der Walt and his team. In
the video, which was shot entirely at night, HemelBesem and Jaco are the kêrels that trade verses over somewhat
eerie music with a hard hitting beat; and perhaps appropriately in the candlelight.
This is not the first time these kêrels can be heard trading verses on a
song together; HemelBesem is also featured on the song "Bliksem" off Bittereinder's 2012 album.
HemelBesem has just recently returned from The Netherlands where he performed at several live music venues and festivals for two weeks as part of the "Cape Town to Kytopia" tour and is already working on his next music video.
The "Y.M.C.M.Besem" in the album title is a pseudo-acronym for "You Must Come Meet Besem" and is also the title of the first track on the album. "Die Y.M.C.M.BesemEP" is available to order on CD on the BLM Music website or can be downloaded via music stores like iTunes, Google Play, Bandcamp and several others.
Y.M.C.M.Besem is an acronym for "You Must Come Meet Besem" and is also the name of the opening track on the album. The first single is a song called "Hoe Salla" and was released last year. The music video of "Hoe Salla" was completed recently, is up on Youtube and was directed by HemelBesem and Deon Meiring.
'Die Y.M.C.M.Besem EP' is a 10-track Afrikaans hiphop album where HemelBesem delivers a performance of witty lyrics, clever wordplay and catchy hooks over hard hitting hiphop beats that are bound to get your head nodding. The album was produced by Dokte, producer of the award-winning Afrikaans rap group Kallitz, and it features Jaco van der Merwe (Bittereinder) on the lower tempo song "Kêrels By Candlelight" and Isaac Mutant on the techno-influenced song "Koes Koes"; as the stand-out guest artists.
28 November 2012 - Afrikaans rapper HEMELBESEM has just released the
music video for "Hoe Salla"; the first single off his upcoming EP album.
The song "Hoe Salla" was chosen as the first single due to the great
popularity it has gained since it was released earlier this year. It has
become a crowd favourite at all of his live performances and has also
enjoyed some radio airplay already.
The music video was shot in Eldorado Park against a backdrop of graffiti
art depicting the album cover of a previous Afrikaans hiphop album
"Double Story" - collaborative effort by HEMELBESEM and Isaac Mutant -
and was directed by HEMELBESEM and Deon Meiring.
Up until the beginning of this year, HEMELBESEM has been operating
virtually on his own; writing, recording and selling his music
independantly, as well as networking and arranging appearances at
festivals, schools and community drives all over South Africa.
This year has seen HEMELBESEM working closely together with DOKTE,
producer of the award-winning Afrikaans rap group KALLITZ, and has
already yielded some positive results.
"We've been working on a lot of new music these past few months, and in
the process have developed a great working relationship," says DOKTE. "I
believe that this project will continue to grow and that HEMELBESEM will achieve greater things very soon."
Double Story ...................................... 2012
The 'Double Story' album is an independantly released collaboration
project by Afrikaans hiphop artists HemelBesem and Isaac Mutant.

The album sees two of the most prominent Afrikaans emcees go at it on various topics on the rawest of beats and is a must have for the ultimate fan of Afrikaans hiphop or of any one of these two emcees.
