After his Tempo award nominee album, "Soos Die Wind", Viljoen Retief is back with an even more powerful production called, "Droomvanger". Without any doubt, Viljoen has become one of South Africa's leading songwriters. His ability to play with words and melody to capture the listening ear of the consumer is the reason why this gentle giant and his music, is so popular throughout South Africa. Viljoen composed all 18 songs on the album, sixteen of which Afrikaans and for the first time, two English songs. He is comfortable in both languages. "Droomvanger" is a well balanced album with fluctuation between moods and rhythm. There is never a dull moment on the album. With the title track already on the airwaves, the current position on the Cape Town based station, Bok Radio's top 40, lies at 29 after only two weeks of play. This is an indication that the public already bought into this product. On the 8th of October 2012, the album will be featuring as the "Ster van die week" on the National Afrikaans radio station, RSG. Viljoen will also be guest artist on the very popular, "Jukebox" TV programme on the kykNET channel, where the video of the title track will be launched. Viljoen will also be appearing throughout November on "DKNT" as well as on "Toks en Tjops", also on kykNET channel.
